Who We Are
Cornerstone Press is a printing endeavour happening in the Republic of South Africa, begun with the awareness of the great value of printed material in the work of our God on this earth. It is the powerful impact of the words of God published and proclaimed among men that has driven us to press on with what has often been a frustrating learning curve and a way filled with many obstacles. Yet every set-back or disappointment along the way has tended to stir the same response; "We must be doing something right!" No man stands up like Joshua the high priest to do a work for God without "Satan standing at his right hand to resist him" (Zech. 3).
The vision of this work is to put Christian literature in the hands of the people of our land that will win souls and help saints in their walk with our Saviour, Jesus Christ. This purpose has been pursued mainly through the production and distribution of materials produced by New Germany Baptist Church in the Durban area of South Africa. See further details concerning the history, activities, and impact of Cornerstone Press under the ABOUT US heading above.
Our prayer throughout has been that the Lord might use us to take the sound teaching of His eternal Word to the ends of the earth, that multitudes might be blessed thereby.
Where We Stand
For those concerned with such matters, we would like to be up-front with you as to where we stand on biblical issues lest there be any misunderstandings. We are;
- Born again - Which means we have happily found life in Jesus Christ by God's grace alone through faith alone, for "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 6:23).
- Literalists - Which means we tend to read and understand the Bible normally rather than seeing allegorical meaning here, there, and everywhere. This approach to Bible interpretation has kept us from a world of error as reflected below.
- Creationist - Which means we believe Genesis 1 as it is written, that God really did create the world, universe, and all that is in them in 6 literal, 24-hour days.
- Premillennial - Which means we believe Jesus Christ will return to earth in His 2nd coming before (pre) His 1000-year (millennium) kingdom, and that He returns to establish that earthly kingdom.
- Pre-tribulational - Which means we believe the church will be "raptured" away to the Lord's presence before the final 7-year tribulation period leading up to Christ's return.
- Non-calvinistic - Which means we see man as responsible for his decisions and able to respond in and of himself.
